Recital in Rio

Dear Friends,

I return to Rio de Janeiro to perform a franco-brazilian program as a prelude to the upcoming Artes Vertentes Festival, with pianist Gustavo Carvalho:

Heitor Villa Lobos's first sonata " Desesperance" - a poignant emotional journey, particularly meaningfull in these days of crisis and tragedy in Amazonas.

Gabriel Fauré's first sonata in A Major - full of wonderful nuances, he is definitely one of my favorite composers.

Maurice Ravel's posthumous sonata - beautifully transparent, meditative and cyclical.

George Enescu's "Impressions d'Enfance", a unique 'tone poem' in its vivid imagery and portrayal of memories and scenes from Enescu's childhood in Romania.

A special thanks to Artes Vertentes for this recital.

I look forward to sharing this special program with all of you,

Elissa
